If you aren't signed in when you make a post and you do sign in, it should redirect you back to your post so you can submit it under your name.

    • Good idea, I'll see if I can incorporate something like that. Thanks!!

    • If you click the login button from a question you should now be redirected back to that page after you're logged back in. I call it the "AutoAxon Login Action Thing"

Editor does not seem to preserve line feeds, unless I am doing something wrong. My answers come in as one big paragraph

    • What browser are you using? When you type your answers into the answer box, does that box have buttons at the top (bold, italics, indent)?

    • I think has to do with the control I use to edit text with. It seems that it has a bit of a problem when yo just paste formatted text into it. If you go in right after you post something you can change it. I may need to find a new way to do this in the future.

Hey! So i've been enjoying the site and community here, but i've hit a snag too... it seems that i logged in using two different OpenIDs or something... oops. Same username, but different passwords. (Because of the auto-log in thing, which one i log in with depends on what else i am logged in to, oh my). The result is that there are two Kerazy Steve members and they are both me, ha.

Is there any way to consolidate these and have all of my answers, experience points etc attributed to ONE me, instead of two mes?  ;-)

    Edit:

How to add another login to your account

    • I'm working on that one...I'll have a solution soon.

      Recording Questions | Oct 13 at 06:10

    • I've added a way to add other logins to the same account. (For instance, if you originally created an account with a Google login, but would also like to use your Facebook login on the same account) You can find the instructions on how to do that in the answer above. -- The only drawback is if you have already created 2 different accounts (as you have). In this case I will need to change it manually for you.

    • If anyone else had multiple accounts, please email me at: us@recordingquestions.com with your account numbers that need to be merged. You can find your account number at the end of the URL when you visit the profile section. Thanks!

I accidentally entered an answer without being logged in. There doesn't seem to be a way to remove that guest entry though. Nice and clean site, good work!

    • Yeah, things get tricky with the guest since we don't a guest to be able to remove any other guest post. Maybe there could be a 'Claim This Post' link that shows up next to guest posts. You could click that and it would let me know that you actually wrote that post. Thanks for the feedback.

I think that on the gear's main page, there should be different labelled pictures across the screen which go to subpages for that piece of equipment; I.E plug-ins would be one of these titled picture links, and this would then take you to the plug-ins section of the gear page which would be a subpage when a user clicks on it. It would be the same for all the other pieces of gear as well, such as microphones, this would take you to the microphones subpage on the gear site and possibly a secondary subpage showing the different types of microphones such as condenser, ribbon and dynamic.

I think that a companies section should be part of the gear's main page, the subpage would have many different companies and would be titled and pictured with either a well known piece of equipment from that company, or the company logo itself.

I think it'd be easier to navigate around the gear page that way with it broken up into its different types of equipment, rather than having a long list which only shows the newest gear added to the site.

    • Thanks Martin. So you are saying that the list of recent gear is not as helpful to you as other other info would be? Maybe the 'Categories' box on the right hand side needs to be placed in the main section.

      Recording Questions | Feb 19 at 10:02

    • Yeah that sounds like a good idea, I know that when I've been trying to search for gear to add to my page it's been a little difficult. I think that the browse by category section should definitely be the main part of the gear page and then the recent gear that's been added to the site placed somewhere else. But other than that, it's a great site! It's really helped me out!

    • Have you used the gear search box at all? What do you think of that?

The site looks awesome! Are there any plans to integrate with Facebook connect? At a minimum you will have a single sign on (SSO) capability.

    • Luckily we already have a single-sign-on solution with Rpxnow.com. They do a great job of handling many different OpenID providers, including Facebook!

I would like to add my studio to my profile but I unfortunately don't have the time to find the pictures to my gear.  is there an easy way of finding the pics for gear that isn't on the list already?

    • Awesome. Here is the way we have been doing it...Do a quick search on http://google.com for the name of a piece of gear, then click on the link in the upper-left called "Images". You should see quite a few results so long as the gear is not too obscure. A couple of clicks should get you to the full size image. Right click the image, and copy it's URL and use that in the image upload box. (Remember not to upload any copyrighted images.)
